Kona Compass hardware overview

Construction

Engineered for demanding conditions on the water.

Sealed housing

Hermetically sealed marine-grade housing. Protects internal sensors and motor from saltwater, spray, and humidity.

100% stainless steel. Zero aluminum.

Every structural component is high-grade stainless steel. Aluminum is completely absent — eliminating galvanic corrosion risk in saltwater and mixed-metal environments.

Speed protection

Mounting bracket automatically folds at higher boat speeds to protect both the transducer and the rotator assembly.

Maintenance-free internals

Wear components use modern composite materials with integrated low-friction elements. No greasing, no servicing — ready to run every time.

Extreme temperature range

Operates reliably down to −10°C for winter fishing and withstands storage up to +60°C in a sun-exposed boat.

Ambidextrous mounting

Controls and indicators are fully symmetric — mount on port or starboard without disassembly or re-routing. Works identically on either side.
